Perfect Body

In una gara di bodybuilding il viso è irrilevante. I giudici valutano simmetria, volume, definizione — un corpo ridotto alla sua superficie, valutato come un oggetto. Gli atleti lo sanno. Si allenano per questo. Lo scelgono. Perfect Body fotografa quella scelta. Lo scomodo non è la nudità. È lo specchio che regge: anche noi guardiamo questi corpi e li giudichiamo, usando criteri che non abbiamo inventato e mai messo in discussione.

In a bodybuilding competition the face is irrelevant. Judges evaluate symmetry, volume, definition — a body reduced to its surface, assessed like an object. The athletes know this. They train for it. They choose it. Perfect Body photographs that choice. The uncomfortable thing is not the nudity. It is the mirror it holds: we too look at these bodies and judge them, using criteria we did not invent and have never questioned.
