Statement
Il corpo è trattato come frammento. Attraverso lo scanner, la carne viene ridotta a superficie, a impronta, a residuo. L'autoritratto perde la sua funzione identitaria e diventa materiale tra altri materiali. La figura non viene rappresentata, ma accumulata. Ciò che appare non è un corpo riconoscibile, ma una presenza instabile, una traccia temporanea. L'immagine non restituisce: trattiene.
The body is treated as fragment. Through the scanner, flesh is reduced to surface, to imprint, to residue. The self-portrait loses its identity function and becomes material among other materials. The figure is not represented, but accumulated. What appears is not a recognisable body, but an unstable presence, a temporary trace. The image does not restore: it retains.

Processo & TecnicaProcess & Technique

Scanner photography: il corpo posizionato direttamente sul piano dello scanner. Nessuna prospettiva, nessuna profondità di campo — solo il contatto diretto tra carne e luce. Interventi pittorici sul file grezzo appartengono allo stesso gesto: accumulare, non rappresentare.

La scelta dello scanner come strumento annulla la distanza tra soggetto e macchina: non c'è obiettivo, non c'è spazio. Solo pressione.

Scanner photography: the body placed directly on the scanner bed. No perspective, no depth of field — only the direct contact between flesh and light. Pictorial interventions on the raw file belong to the same gesture: to accumulate, not represent.

The choice of the scanner as instrument eliminates the distance between subject and machine: there is no lens, no space. Only pressure.
